About College Prep Step-By-Step:

How do you teach students while keeping them engaged?

Over the past 10 years, Paradigm Shift had the opportunity to work with student and staff groups across America and internationally. Since the beginning, we focused on experiential education to help students with various backgrounds seek education past high school. In our early days, we emphasized goal-setting, time management, communication, and leadership. As we delivered workshops, keynotes, camps, and conferences on these themes, we realized that a huge need still existed to empower educators to deliver content on a regular basis. While our events are helpful, most programs cannot bring us in each month.

As we met with more and more students, we developed our curriculum and added more topics relevant to students navigating college readiness in the 21st century. As a result, our team of facilitators and speakers developed and honed a repository of lesson plans that approached the ever-changing landscape of college readiness with a unique perspective.

Each lesson plan in this subscription is designed to engage students in an interactive and experiential way. Our college-prep program features everything from energetic self-image and “name game” activities to contemplative budgeting, goal-setting, and test prep lesson plans. After each activity, there is a chance for written reflection on the worksheets we provide.

As an educator, you are making a huge difference in students’ lives. You are providing opportunities for a huge part of the next generation. You are teaching and leading the future. This is a resource to help you on your way.

Common Questions:

Who is this college prep program for?

  • TRIO
  • GEAR UP
  • School Districts
  • College Access Groups
This subscription would work well with your group if your goals are for students to succeed, to become better versions of themselves, and to attend college.
How were these lesson plans created?

Paradigm Shift has been providing student workshops, camps, and conferences on college readiness and personal development since 2010. We have delivered each of these activities hundreds of times to make sure that we provide the best opportunities for growth. We also create and deliver new activities on a regular basis to provide new experiences and content to the groups we work with.

How do I find the right lesson plan for me?

Lesson plans can be searched by title or grade. Activities have been placed into intentionally curated topics on each grade page. These topics are developed based on desired learning outcomes, relevance of content, and the college readiness learning cycle. Content is sorted based on activity level, number of participants, and the amount of time needed for the lesson plan.
